VBIS has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner in The Australian Business Awards 2020 for Business Technology.

VBIS provides for the classification and connecting of building related asset data located in disparate information systems. This straightforward system makes possible the calling up of useful information from a range of applications including Building Information Models and FM systems to link to associated data sets seamlessly, regardless of the stage of the building lifecycle.

Led by a consortium of industry partners VBIS was developed with the backing of the Victorian Government and is referenced in the Victorian Digital Asset Strategy and Queensland Government Data and Information Guideline.

Lead consortium partner A.G. Coombs Group Managing Director Russell Telford stated, “the award affirms our commitment to innovation and playing a leading role in the digital transformation of the building construction and property industry.“

VBIS Manager Heshan Samarawickrama added, “this is recognition for the development of an industry leading information system that operationalises low functionality data to improve design and construction processes and drive operational efficiencies.”

Now in their fifteenth year, The Australian Business Awards (ABA) program provides an opportunity for high-performing organisations which implement world-class business initiatives and develop innovative products and services to be acknowledged and honoured for their achievements both nationally and internationally.
